Florian Wirtz's future is shaping up to become the transfer saga of the summer, given the rate at which he's picking up elite suitors before the season even comes to an end.
The German playmaker emerged as one of the brightest attacking midfield talents in the game last season, helping steer Bayer Leverkusen to an invincible domestic campaign.
While he remained under Xabi Alonso's tutelage for another campaign, he is set to depart the Bundesliga side this summer, with a whole host of Champions League giants in hot pursuit.
Being a young German wonderkid, Bayern Munich are naturally prime contenders to land his services, though they are being rivalled by the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
The player's parents have met with Man City officials in England, though they've not spoken to Pep Guardiola, but Liverpool have their own plan to try and usurp their English rivals.
However, according to German outlet Bild, Man City have earmarked a potential alternative after learning that Bayern were a little further down the line in their own negotiations with Wirtz, should they miss out on the youngster.

'We've heard Manchester City want Dani Olmo - it's supposed to be a hot topic,' said German football expert Christian Falk.
'He's currently playing for Barcelona, but isn't a regular under Hansi Flick. Pep Guardiola sees him as a good replacement for Kevin de Bruyne - and his move is a bit easier to realize.
'We also heard that City learned during the talks that Bayern are a bit further along with Wirtz. So: City is looking for Olmo. That would take the player off the table.'
Olmo joined Barcelona last summer after starring for Spain at the European Championship, and the Catalan club had to undergo plenty of financial struggles just to register him for their squad.
However, he has not been the permanent fixture many might have thought he would be become under Hansi Flick, who has regularly played Fermin Lopez in behind the striker.
With Kevin de Bruyne leaving Manchester City this summer, though, there is an obvious hole that needs to be plugged for the Premier League giants.
At 27, Olmo is entering his prime, and as a youngster schooled in the arts of La Masia's famed academy, he naturally fits the profile of a textbook Guardiola signing.
The former Premier League champions are in need of a serious overhaul this summer after a disappointing campaign by their titanic recent standards.
