Chappell Roan's response to claims that her personal security guard left Jude Law's daughter in tears has been slammed by the young fan's mother.

Footballer Jorginho, who is married to Catherine Harding, took to Instagram on Saturday to claim his wife's daughter Ada, who she shares with actor Jude, was threatened by the singer's bodyguard after the 11-year-old spotted the star in the same hotel in Brazil

Amid a huge backlash the singer responded to Jorginho's post in a video shared to Instagam on Sunday, in which she insisted it was not her personal security and she did not ask anyone to approach the child.

Catherine was quick to share her own side of the story later on Sunday, uploading a series of Instagram videos to explain what she saw happen whilst having breakfast with her daughter Ada.

'I know that Chappell has responded, saying that "It wasn't her security and that she didn't do it" well, 100% this wasn't a security guard of the hotel that's what I can say, he looks after artists,' Cat said in her video.

'Now I don't know if he's her personal security guard but he was with her, so that is all I know, did she send him to do it? again, I don't know, I would like to hope not.

'But at the same time you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity that the people who work for you and act on your behalf are acting on your behalf,'

'So would he do that if he didn't have her authority? I don't know. If he does, thats a big problem. because then he is representing her in a way she doesn't want to be represented'.

Catherine added that Chappell was right to say she 'didn't notice anything' because nothing happened and claimed all her daughter did was walk silently past the hitmaker's table.

'[My daughter] didn't have her phone, she didn't try to take a picture, she didn't do anything, she just looked at [Chappell] and smiled'.

Catherine went on to recall how a security guard, who she described as 'aggressive and intimidating' soon came over to their table and 'berated' her for being a bad parent.

'He said we should not harass people and all these other things and I did try to explain to him that she was a child and she was just excited to see an artist she liked'.

She explained to him that her daughter, who has a famous father and stepfather, understood 'boundaries' acceptable to people in the public eye, but said the security guard did not listen.

'I hope [Chappell] did not know, I hope she did not send her security over to do this. I really think she is a very very talented artist we liked her a lot we came all the way to São Paulo to watch her show,

'It was her birthday presented, she asked for tickets, it was a little bit ruined because we didn't go to the show last night but that's how it is'.

Before adding: 'I hope that maybe if it wasn't her that maybe she learns not to allow the people who work for her not to treat people like this'.

Meanwhile Catherine thanked Lewis Capaldi for his 'kindness' after he posed for a snap with the actor's daughter on Sunday

Daily Mail have contacted Chappell Roan's representatives for comment.

Chappell said in her video on her Instagram Story: 'I'm gonna tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard - who is not my personal security...

'I didn't even see. I didn't even see a woman and a child. No one came up to me, no one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast at my hotel. I think these people were staying at the hotel as well. So the fact that a security guard who is...

'I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. I did not. They did not come up to me. I did not do anything. It's unfair for security to just assume someone doesn't have good intentions when they have no reason to believe it as there's no action been taken.

'I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children, like that is crazy. I am sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something.

'If you felt uncomfortable that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.'

Meanwhile Catherine thanked  Lewis Capaldi for his 'kindness' after he posed for a snap with the actor's daughter on Sunday.

She posted a snap of the tween as she beamed alongside the Scottish singer following his concert at Lollapalooza 2026 in São Paulo, which Chappell was headlining.

Lewis gave a thumbs up to the camera with Catherine also jumping in for a snap as she captioned the post: 'Thanks for your kindness'.

The drama kicked off when Catherne's husband, former Chelsea and Arsenal footballer Jorginho posted a lengthy statement on Instagram on Saturday, publicly criticising Chappell's security for threatening his step-daughter.

In the post which quickly went viral he wrote: 'I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today.'

'My wife (@catcavelli) is in Sao Paulo for @lollapaloozabr. This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited, she even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire.'

He continued: 'By coincidence, they're staying at the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her.

'And the worst part is she didn't even approach her. She simply walked past the singer's table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn't say anything, didn't ask for anything.

'What happened next was completely disproportionate. A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldn't allow my daughter to "disrespect" or "harass" other people.

The drama kicked off when Catherne's husband, former Chelsea and Arsenal footballer Jorginho posted a lengthy statement on Instagram, publicly criticising Chappell's security

'Honestly, I don't know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment. He even said he would file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears. My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot.

'I've lived with football, public exposure, and well-known people for many years, and I understand very well what respect and boundaries are. What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone.

'It's sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans. At the end of the day, they are the ones who build all of this. I sincerely hope this serves as a moment of reflection. No one should have to go through this, especially not a child.'

Jorginho concluded: '@chappellroan WITHOUT YOUR FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING. AND TO THE FANS, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AFFECTION.'

Representatives for Chappell Roan did not immediately respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment.

Chappell has had an occasionally contentious relationship with her fans, with the artist previously calling out behavior that she considered 'creepy' and 'invasive' in previous social media posts.

In August 2024, around the time of her sudden rise in popularity, she posted a video to TikTok where she said, 'I don't care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous.

'It's weird how people think that you know a person because you see them online and you listen to the art they make ... I'm allowed to say no to creepy behavior, okay?'

She followed that up with a lengthy post to Instagram, saying, 'I want to be an artist for a very long time. I've been in too many nonconsensual physical and social interactions and I just need to lay it out and remind you, women don't owe you s**t.'

Chappell was recently blasted by Boy George over her self imposed boundaries with fans, as he insisted the singer should 'own your fame and cheer up.'

The Culture Club frontman was responding to a viral video which shows Chappell filming herself as she confronts a group of fans who had allegedly been following her around Paris.

The video, filmed by an onlooker, shows Chappell telling her camera that she feels 'disregarded as a human'.

Boy George offered Chappell some advice, writing: 'Yes, it's annoying at times but so is being ignored and told your a 'has-been'. Life is always now and I think Chappell looks great but cheer up girl.'

'The world is at your feet stop kicking it! It takes so much more time to say no to a picture or a signature. Boundaries are boring. Break them with the magic of kindness!'
