A huge crowd was filmed swarming the beer hall at winter Wonderland - as revellers shoved each other against the railings following 'hours of queuing'.

Footage shows security watch on helplessly outside the Bavarian Hall in London's Hyde Park on Saturday while dozens of punters rush towards the venue.

Customers donned thick coats and scarves as they piled into the building - sold as a 'joyful meeting point for friends, families, and festive party-goers alike'.

At one point a member of staff is forced to physically push back on the railings as they nearly topple over.

Other organisers can be seen rushing around frantically as they attempt to put a stop to the chaos.

Lewis, 26, who had been queuing to get into the venue said security 'stopped letting people in' unless they were willing to pay more than £1,500 for a table or had purchased a wristband - which 'quickly sold out'.

He told The Daily Mail: 'Everyone just ended up going to the Bavarian Village (the main tent) instead which was better.

'No one was being annoying there but there were a few lads pushing through.'

Lewis added he did not believe the prices at the village were a 'rip off' due to it being in London and as he was there to 'have a good time'.

Under the footage - which was uploaded to TikTok and captioned 'POV: You're fed up of waiting to get into Bavarian Hall at Winter Wonderland on the 20th' - a number of people expressed their confusion at the unruly behaviour.

One person said: 'And this is how people get crushed. Security there is a joke.'

Another added: 'Anyone could be carrying anything - shocking.'

But a third said: 'Now this is a shame because when I visited Winter Wonderland the security was really good.

'They did a snaking queue and searched bags that needed searching. It was a really great atmosphere and everyone was in really good spirits.

'I hope no one was injured or hurt.'

A Winter Wonderland spokesman said: 'Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is a large-scale seasonal event, welcoming around three million visits over a six-week period.

'We work with the Metropolitan Police and relevant authorities to support security and crowd-management arrangements across the event.

'The Bavarian Hall is free to enter for members of the public, subject to capacity.

'During peak periods, admission is managed through a controlled process, and the rate of entry may be temporarily reduced. Guests with pre-booked tables continue to be admitted into their allocated spaces.

'On this occasion, there was a particularly busy moment, and the situation was addressed on site and resolved quickly.'

The spokesman added that the £1600 table figure related to the most premium, peak-time VIP package in 'Gracey's VIP Bar' - for up to 10 people, including food and drinks.

Separate footage uploaded to TikTok this weekend showed the moment a vicious brawl erupted at Winter Wonderland

It comes as separate footage uploaded to TikTok this weekend showed the moment a vicious brawl erupted at the site.

Two males threw punches at each other inside the event's packed Bavarian Village.

One appeared to stumble to the floor amid a flurry of fists from a group of people. The camera then panned to another area where a group of young men were embroiled in another brawl.

Stunned onlookers watched as they rained down punches. One appeared to lash out with a series of kicks while looking down at the floor before a team of security guards finally intervened to stop the carnage.

Amid the brawls Winter Wonderland has been criticised as overcrowded and overpriced, and was last week named Europe's most complained-about festive attraction

Defenders of the annual gathering will point out that it generates an estimated £100million for the London economy - while raising vital funds for the city's Royal Parks.

But for critics, it has become a real-life Nightmare Before Christmas, with some calling for it to be stopped.

Last week, more footage emerged - this time of a woman being punched to the ground amid a mass brawl.

Ryan, who was attending Winter Wonderland with friends, filmed the harrowing video.

He claimed the fight started after one man accused another of 'touching his missus'.

He told the Daily Mail: 'So we were in the Bavarian beer garden beer hall and then it closed at 10, and everyone was asked to leave as normal.

'When we exited, they'd created a gated alleyway with a construction fence which created a huge bottleneck.

'It wasn't even that busy but then all of a sudden, there's about a couple thousand people in this one area, and just at a standstill. And then security had locked themselves outside of the gate, which is when the fight broke out.

'Everyone was very drunk, you could tell something was going to happen.'

He continued: 'It was really lawless and chaotic and there were families with children as well.

'I go every year, and I've never seen anything like that.'

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland said the incident had been 'managed promptly by on-site security, with police present'.

'There was no impact on the wider event and no serious injuries reported,' a spokesman added.
