Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk has today insisted his nation stands ready to 'repel' provocation after Russian drones were shot down for entering its airspace during overnight attacks on Ukraine.
Poland scrambled its air defenses in the early hours of Wednesday to take down the drones, marking the first engagement of a NATO country since the Russian-Ukraine conflict began more than three years ago.
Speaking earlier, Tusk said: 'We are dealing with a large-scale provocation...We are ready to repel such provocations. The situation is serious, and no one doubts that we must prepare for various scenarios'
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Russian drones entering Polish airspace marked an 'extremely dangerous precedent for Europe' as his ministers accused Vladimir Putin of 'testing the West' by expanding the conflict.
