A Ukrainian OnlyFans model was 'scalped' by 'abusers' at a Dubai party before she was found horrifically injured on a roadside.

Maria Kovalchuk, 21, was found with horrific injuries, including severe head trauma and a broken spine and limbs, when she was discovered on a roadside in the Emirati city in March.

She spent weeks in the hospital in a coma after being 'tortured' by Russians at a party.

She is now learning to walk on crutches at a hideaway in Norway, where she is being cared for by her mother, Anna, 40.

Exactly how she was left close to death remains a mystery.

Medical images revealed today show the appalling giant knife scar extending from her forehead to the top of her skull.

In an interview on Ukrainian TV show Hovoryt vsia kraina, her mother said she witnessed how her daughter had been scalped when she found her in a Dubai hospital.

'It was a shock,' said Anna.

'If you saw the stitches on the head, how the scalp [had to be] sewn back on….'

The anguished mother told TV host Oleksii Sukhanov how she believes a knife was used to savagely wound Maria, who has no memory of the alleged attack which almost killed her.

'My impression is that it was just done like this, with a knife, and right across the face,' she said.

Sukhanov urged her not to highlight how a knife cut her daughter's face and scalp, saying she 'has already suffered enough'.

The mother said: 'It looked as if it was done with a knife from the centre of the head all the way down to the eye, and the hair was cut off.'

She believes the hair was removed with a knife as part of the abuse she suffered in Dubai after attending a party over several days at a five star hotel.

'Why the hair was cut is unclear, because it wasn't done at the hospital, the nurses told me that and confirmed it,' said Anna.

'The hair had been lifted upwards and cut off.

'They wouldn't have been able to lift it like that in hospital, because there was a massive wound on the head.'

Anna said that Maria had 'three operations on one leg, three on the other, two on her spine, and one on her shoulder blade' after the alleged brutal beatings.

'One leg has an open fracture with ten centimetres [4 inches] of bone missing.

'She currently has an implant from the hip down.

'That leg is now paralysed, with no sensation.'

Two wealthy Russians accused of involvement in the alleged abuse have gone public to deny any part in her horrific injuries.

They said they were at a three day party with Maria but had nothing to do with harming her.

Dubai police also examined a theory that Maria had left the party and five hours later sought to commit suicide by jumping eight floors from a nearby construction site.

But a neurosurgeon who examined the model concluded her wounds were not consistent with such a fall.

Rather, the wounds suggested Maria being beaten, and hit by a car, or thrown from one.

'She had tearing under both armpits and a broken collarbone—like she'd been dragged,' said Anna.

'Then I believe they beat her and threw her from the car.'

The prosecutor in Dubai closed the case, saying it was suicide, she said.

But this means no-one has been brought to justice for Maria's appalling wounds.

'My theory is that [her so far unidentified captors] operate a trafficking scheme,' said Anna.

Dubai police initially thought Maria had sought to commit suicide by humping eight floors from a nearby construction site.

At the party, they 'took her [passport], phone, and said she belonged to them and would do what they say.

'They wanted to break her psychologically.'

It is still unclear where she was for five hours after leaving the party and being found out cold on a construction site.

One intriguing aspect is that Maria's full medical bills for numerous operations were fully covered by Dubai police.

Anna alleged they were seeking to cover up something.

'I believe so,' she said.

They agreed to pay as Maria's mutilation was first reported in the media.

'By that time, information was already spreading fast online and in the media about Maria. I think they wanted to contain it—to make their investigation easier, perhaps.'

Anna has also claimed that she has been threatened online for speaking out about the case.

After the daughter and mother spoke out, Anna said: 'I got a disappearing message on my phone.

'It read: 'We'll find you even in Norway'.'

Earlier this week, Maria revealed that she was spending time with a group of acquaintances in a Dubai hotel room when two men who had invited her there became violent.

Moments before she fled the room in what would prove a futile escape attempt, the pair, who had allegedly been drinking heavily, smashing bottles and acting aggressively, made a horrifying statement, according to Maria.

'You belong to us. We'll do whatever we want.'

Maria was chased out of the hotel and ultimately found in her hiding spot in a nearby building that was under construction.

Maria explained how her horrific story began when she missed a flight from Dubai to Thailand after she overslept.

The wounds suggested Maria had been beaten, and hit by a car, or thrown from one.

While checking out of her hotel, she bumped into a Russian man she had met at a karaoke bar once before.

After telling him about her situation, he invited her to stay in his room and told her they could fly to Thailand together in his private jet.

The man was accompanied by three friends - another man and two women.

'We went up to the room. The guys were half-sober, they had just come from a party. And overall, everything went well throughout the day. We talked, discussed our trip to Thailand.

'I even called my mum, said that everything was fine, the guys were normal. I called in their presence, to be on the safe side.

But things took dark turn the next day, when the men started to behave aggressively towards her, she says.

'They were drinking very strong alcohol, like whiskey. They started to tease me, like, why don't I drink.

'Then there were some aggressive pushes... ''You belong to us. We'll do whatever we want''.'

'I tried to take it as a joke, because it was really weird.

'They started behaving inappropriately, smashing bottles on the floor.

'After that, they took my personal belongings, which included my passport.'

Maria added that the men had 'hinted' that they wanted to have sex with her, which she did not reciprocate.

As things escalated, Maria tried to escape but said the men ultimately dragged her back into the room.

When they stepped out onto the balcony, she managed to flee and hid at a nearby construction site.

The men then found her and 'beat her', she said.

'I ran away. Then, already on the street, when I was, I didn't see them anymore, but I knew they were coming,' said Maria.

'I ran to the nearest building, just scared, and ran in, hid there. It was just an unfinished building.'

Maria said she doesn't remember the violence itself that led to her injuries, and CCTV footage has since been erased, she said.

'Three months have passed - the police waited until the cameras were automatically wiped [after this period]. So now there's no evidence,' said Maria.

'Most likely, there was a blow to the head, I suppose. The next scene [that] I remember is me asking for help from a passing car, which had already stopped and called an ambulance and the police.

She had fled wearing only a hotel robe.

'I think that maybe I was thrown. Or it was a beating. One of two options, the injuries looked like either a beating or a fall.'
