Love Island returned on Monday and after promising a series of twists, Maya Jama was sure to deliver.
The Islanders were coupled up earlier in the day after the girls matched themselves to dating profiles - but Maya returned later that night with big news.
After a day of getting to know each other, the couples were gathered at the fire pit where they were dealt the news that American bombshell Toni Laites would be entering and stealing one of the boys.
Forced to make her decision on the spot, Toni, 24, picked taxi driver Ben Holbrough - leaving construction project manager Shakira Khan, 26, single and vulnerable.
Maya revealed that Shakira would have just 24 hours to form a connection with one of the boys or risk being dumped from the island.
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop.

In order to stay in the villa, Shakira would have to convince one of the boys to leave their partner the following evening.
If she manages to do this whichever girl is left single will be dumped... but if she doesn't, it's Shakira who will face the chop.
Elsewhere in the episode, the ladies - Shakira, Meg, Alima, Sophie, Megan and Helena - were first to enter the villa with talk soon turning to the boys they could potentially couple up with.
However, in contrast to recent series, it won't be the viewers that will be picking the couples, but instead the girls will be tasked with choosing their boys based on their dating profiles.
Explaining the huge change, Maya tells the girls: 'This year things are slightly different. You’ve told me what your type on paper is, but does that match your ideal man in reality? Come and join me by the pool.'
As the girls line up, she continues: 'Girls, in front of you there are six love hearts and each boy has given me their dating profile which is written on each of these hearts - shall we have a look at what these boys have to offer?'
The girls then check out the descriptions of the island's boys - Ben, Dejon, Harry, Conor, Blu and Tommy.
They then have to decide to who they’d like to pair up with based on key stats with the boys’ name, age, job and a headline.

Headlines includes lines such as: 'I like to play hard and work harder! I love to play, so I work very hard...' in order to help the girls make their big decisions.
After discussing the boys' profiles and attempting to figure out which lad could be right for them, Maya then forces them to make their choice.
Counting to three, the stunner informs the ladies that they must run to their chosen heart, with only one girl allowed to stand next to each heart.
And after the girls ad chosen their man, they were finally introduced to each boy - but it wasn't all love at first sight.
Blu Chegini, 26, got eyebrows raising when he immediately made it clear stunning Scot Alima Gagio wasn't his type on paper.
And Megan Moore, 25, also admitted that her couple Dejon Noel Williams, 26, also didn't fit her usual man.
Maya kicked off the new series of Love Island in sensational style on Monday night, as she strutted into the famous villa to greet the new girls.
The presenter, 30, kicked off another series of show-stopping looks in a plunging black floral dress as she made her entrance.
Maya put on a leggy display as the stunning number, which showed off her amazing figure, featured a floaty skirt which was shorter in the front and longer in the back.

Styling her long dark tresses in voluminous waves, the ITV2 star accessorised with a huge pair of coordinated drop earrings.
She greeted the girls in the villa for the first time before heading over to the famous fire pit to discuss the girls' types.
Asking the girls to join her around the pool, Maya shared the boys dating profiles with the girls before they were each asked to pick one each.
The boys later walked into the villa and were coupled up with the girl standing with their profile.
This year's crop of hopefuls include a Declan Rice body double, fire breather and Maura Higgins lookalike and Maya will once again be at the helm after joining the popular dating series in January 2023.
This year, the show celebrates a decade on screens and promises to have 'more twists and turns than ever before' in honour of their 10-year anniversary.
The series, which has been streamed over two billion times on ITVX, has seen over 300 Islanders pass through the villa doors over the years, including the likes of Olivia Attwood, Dani Dyer, Chris Hughes, and Molly-Mae Hague.
