Dimitri Payet is reportedly being investigated by police in Brazil after being accused of 'physical and psychological violence' towards his 'mistress'.

The former West Ham star allegedly forced Larissa Ferrari, 28, to drink her own urine and lick the floor as well as pushing and stepping on her.

Payet, 38, plays for Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro and started a seven-month affair with Larissa after getting 'lonely'.

The Frenchman, who left his wife of almost 20 years Ludivine and their four children back in his homeland, is yet to comment on the allegations.

Larissa, a lawyer, first met Payet last August. She says he vowed to start 'punishing' her after a row in December, causing her to seek 'protective measures' from the police, as per Agence France Presse.

'I want justice because he abused my psychological vulnerability to gain sexual advantage,' she told AFP.

'He demanded proof of love from me, which consisted of humiliation. I recorded videos in which I drank my urine, drank water from the toilet bowl, and licked the floor.

'I'm a lawyer, I would never have made such serious complaints lightly.'

Police in Rio said: 'The investigation is ongoing. The complaint was registered at a police station specializing in assistance to women.

According to the police report, Larissa said she was 'assaulted by Dimitri Payet, which left marks on her body, and suffered physical, moral, psychological and sexual violence'.

Payet is widely regarded as one of West Ham's most talented players this century but left under a cloud to re-join Marseille after just 18 months in 2017. He stays at the Stade Velodrome for six-and-a-half years before moving to Brazil in 2023.

In March, Larissa revealed that they had had a seven-month affair.

She wrote in a lengthy statement: 'One thing I want to make clear is that it was never about money. There was no need for it.

'There's not much I can say because there's no explanation or anything to justify it.

'But one thing I want to make extremely clear is that it was never for money, not before, not now. In fact, the last time I went to Rio, I went by bus.'

Larissa, who is a mother of two, also claimed that she only got physically involved with the midfielder following her divorce from her ex-husband.

She added: 'Our intention, initially, wasn't for us to become so attached to each other, but we ended up getting very involved.

'We got very close because I got divorced and he gets lonely a lot too. With so much closeness, the meetings became more frequent.

'I would go to Dimitri's house every 12 days or so, and stay for three or four days.

'He has also always been very affectionate towards me, both in person and through messages.

'And with so much affection exchanged, it was impossible not to become attached to each other.'

Larissa finished her statement by apologising to her family before adding she will stay away from social media for a while to 'have some peace'.

It was reported that Payet praised his wife, Ludivine, for putting his mind at ease over moving far away from home in 2023.

'She said, "Go ahead. Come on, I'll take care of everything. I'll look after the children," he said.

'If I'm here today, it's thanks to her. I know she did it out of love and she knows I love football.'
