On 13 March we published an article which erroneously stated that only 14% of people claiming disability benefits can prove they are too ill to work. This was based on a misinterpretation of government figures, which said that 14% of universal credit claimants who had limited capability for work and work-related activity could provide acceptable medical evidence of a restricted ability to work, and therefore did not require a work capability assessment.
