Donald Trump's border czar Tom Homan snacked on an apple as he smiled down screaming protestors on Wednesday.

Homan was visiting Albany at the New York State Capitol alongside state Republicans to take aim at Albany Democrats and their pro-illegal immigration policies.

Speaking on Wednesday he said: 'Sanctuary cities are going to get exactly what they don't want: More ICE agents in your community.'

After delivering his stern speech, Homan was caught on camera running the gauntlet down a hallway that had been flanked with protestors.

The large group can be heard chanting 'immigrants are welcome here' as Homan enters the hallway.

The border czar earlier warned state governor Kathy Hochul that if she fails to cooperate on immigration crackdowns the feds could flood the state with agents.

'We'll double the man force if we have to. Rather than one officer arresting a bad guy, now I have to send a whole team', he added.

Homan also defended New York City Mayor Eric Adams during his visit, denying there had been an alleged 'quid pro quo' deal with the Trump administration and Adams over his corruption case.

'I've been talking with him since November – had nothing to do with that, as far as I'm concerned,' he said.

'Our governor stands on national TV? "I think criminal aliens should be deported."

'What's one of the first things she do? She goes down to New York city and tries to fire the mayor who wants to help me find public safety threats.'

However, when Homan was asked whether or not he would visit the governor while visiting the state capitol he said: 'She knows my number.'

The pair did not meet, and a spokesman for Hochul waved off Homan's comments.

'Governor Hochul has been clear with New Yorkers: she supports secure borders and deporting violent criminals, but won't let New York help the Trump Administration tear babies away from their parents,' the spokesman said in a statement.

'This isn't the first time Trump Administration officials have lied about our policies -and it probably won't be the last - but Governor Hochul is staying focused on keeping New Yorkers safe.'

During Homan's problematic visit to Albany, a New York state elected official was seen attempting to bypass a heavy police presence while shouting at the border czar.

Assembly member and New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, 33, was seen yelling at Homan over the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration and the recent detention of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University student and anti-Israel activist.

Video footage posted online shows Mamdani trying to get past New York State police troopers while shouting at Homan.

'How many more New Yorkers will you detain? How many more New Yorkers without charge?' he shouted. 'Do you believe in the First Amendment, Tom Homan?'

The stern border czar has been active this week, taking a lead role in the arrest of pro-Palestine graduate student Mahmoud Khalil.

Homan said Khalil could be the first of many green cards holders to be deported amid his widespread crackdown on legal and illegal immigrants.

Khalil - a Palestinian who was born and raised in Syria - helped to lead protests against Israel at Columbia University last year. He also acted as a negotiator between students and university officials.

A judge has since stepped in to temporarily block the deportation of the 27-year-old pro-Palestine activist, pending a further ruling on the matter.

Homan, who has led Trump's agenda on the border at full force, said that 'absolutely we can' deport green card holders such as Khalil.

'Did he violate the terms of his visa? Did he violate the terms of his residency here, you know, committing crimes, attacking Israeli students, locking down buildings, destroying property? Absolutely,' he told Fox Business.

However, the lack of criminal conviction complicates Homan's assertion that he violated his visas terms.

Nevertheless, Homan reiterated that Khalil could be just the first of many visa holders sent packing.

'Any resident alien who commits a crime is eligible for deportation,' he said of anti-Israel protesters on American campuses. 'And that's just one out of many.

Khalil was detained by ICE officers on Saturday night - who said they'd been given an order to revoke his green card - in front of his pregnant wife.

But a federal judge Jesse Furman, from the Southern District of New York, poured cold water on Trump's plan on Monday.

Furman blocked the administration from deporting Khalil until at least the next court hearing on Wednesday.
