A former heavyweight boxer has been allegedly allowing his dog to maul cats to death in Brixton Market.

Alexander Warren, 37, who also goes by the name AJ Carter, last fought in 2017 when he was stopped by world champion Daniel Dubois in just 48 seconds.

He was jailed for 12 weeks back in 2022 after being found guilty of hitting a police horse during a Covid-19 demonstration rally in Newcastle.

Now, his treatment of animals has come back into the spotlight following footage emerging of him allegedly allowing his dog to rip cats apart without doing anything to stop it.

According to MyLondon, they obtained a video of an incident last week that saw a cleaner in Brixton Market pleading with Warren to do something after a black dog was seen carrying a limb Tabby cat in its mouth.

Warren fired back at the cleaner 'what am I meant to do?' before calling the dog once, but he received no response.

A separate CCTV clip, also from last week, shows a black dog grabbing a cat in a fruit and vegetables shop before swinging it around in its mouth while the cat screams for its life.

Local traders insist the dog in question in both incidents belongs to Warren.

MyLondon have reported that they confirmed the man in the first video was Warren by showing traders and cleaners in Brixton his mugshot from his 2022 arrest.

Traders have now claimed they are living in fear of what Warren may allow his dog to do next.

A butcher told MyLondon: 'We see him daily pass by. It’s very dangerous. Dogs without leads running in the market. If the kid is scared it could attack it. Everyone is scared. People are scared to approach him because he has two big dogs.

'He has to be stopped. You can’t see the thing right in front of your eyes. We would not feel comfortable with this kind of person on the street.'

However, Lambeth Council street cleaners have suggested Warren, who is believed to have two dogs, is not the problem, and that it is his black dog that is the major concern.

One cleaner said: 'The problem is the black dog. The black one is terrorist. When the brown one sits down while he buys meat, the black one runs around there.'

The owner of a dog deemed dangerously out of control can be hit with an unlimited fine or face up to six months in prison.
