This is the spine-chilling moment a murderer casually walks his dog moments after stabbing a young mother to death in front of commuters.

Stephanie Marie was just 19 years old when she stabbed to death by her partner Jason Flore after an angry confrontation at Crawley Station.

The 26-year-old stabbed the mother of his child in the chest with a 20cm knife, which punctured her heart in the early hours of August 18 last year.

Chilling CCTV footage has since emerged of the killer wearing a red coat whilst walking his dog through County Mall after the brutal stabbing.

Within the 45 minutes between the murder and the arrest Flore disposed of crucial evidence which included his blooded tracksuit bottoms.

He was also denied entry to a bus after taking off his trousers and because he did not have money for the fare.

Moments later Flore was arrested by police as he tried to make his way to another train station at Three Bridges.

As armed officers approached to arrest the killer, he instantly laid on the ground as his protective dog ferociously barked.

Ms Marie's partner Jason Flore was found guilty of murder by unanimous jury verdict

Now Flore faces life behind bars after a jury found him guilty of murder, showing no emotion as the unanimous verdict was announced.

Judge Jeremy Gold KC told the 26-year-old: 'The only sentence allowed by law is life imprisonment.'

Stephanie Marie and Jason Flore, both originally from Mauritius were living in the makeshift tent camp at the disused car park near Crawley station.

A witness previously told the court she saw Ms Marie looking upset during the argument which she watched from a footbridge at the station that fateful day.

A separate commuter described the 26-year-old man as looking 'extremely angry'.

Flore previously denied murdering his partner and instead told the court that two other people stabbed Ms Marie before they fled the scene.

Prosecutor Patrick Dennis told the court that Ms Marie would have only been able to move for a short number of seconds after being stabbed and that Flore had told a litany of lies to emergency services in the aftermath of the incident.

She was found by emergency services curled up in the foetal position in the tent which she and Flore shared at the station.

Mr Dennis added that there was an eight-minute window between the stabbing and Flore calling for help at 7.18am.

In that first call to police, Flore was recorded as saying that Ms Marie wasn't breathing but that he was leaving her as he didn't want to be there.

Another call followed, but on this occasion the defendant told police that Ms Marie had 'stabbed herself' and that they were just friends and not partners.

Mr Dennis went on to describe how Ms Marie had suffered classic defensive wounds

The knife has never been recovered, the court heard.

Stephanie Marie's heartbroken family said their lives 'will never be the same' following the death of the 'much-loved 'daughter, sister and mother.

'We are devastated that her young life has been ended in this way. She had her whole life ahead of her,' they said.

'At school she excelled at sport and loved basketball, football and gymnastics. We will miss her so much. Life will never be the same.'

Senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn, from the British Transport Police said: 'Stephanie was a young woman with a whole life ahead of her to enjoy, but had it stolen away by a controlling and coercive partner.

'She was a much loved daughter, sister, and mother who enjoyed sports, music – especially playing guitar, and had ambitions to be a hairdresser.

'This outcome is the result of countless hours of investigation and I thank everyone who has contributed to ensuring Stephanie's killer has been held accountable for what he did today. It is important that we remember her name today instead of his

'While today's verdict will never replace the tragic loss felt by those who loved Stephanie, it has ensured that justice has been served.

'I hope this outcome helps them find some peace after such a devastating loss.'

Flore is due to be sentences at Hove Crown Court on Thursday.
