Antony's honest opinion of Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has been revealed as the Brazilian continues to star on loan at Real Betis

The winger that once garnered a price tag of £85million has been cast out by the new Amorim regime at Old Trafford and was flogged in January, with LaLiga outfit Betis snapping up the out-of-form attacker on a temporary basis.

It's in Spain where Antony has begun to show glimpses of exactly why United splashed out him in 2021, bagging two goals in his first three appearances as well as earning the Man of the Match award on his debut.

While it seemed apparent the ex-Ajax star couldn't cut it in the Premier League, his exploits over the last few weeks seem to hint otherwise.

And according to Antony's agent, his career at United is far from over, with hope he'll be re-introduced into the fold upon his return in the summer.

'Saudi and PL clubs wanted him but Real Betis was the best solution, he's so happy there,' agent Junior Pedroso told Fabrizio Romano.

Despite being sparsely used by Ruben Amorim, Antony respects his former manager 'a lot'

'There's no buy option and he respects Amorim a lot… his future at Man United remains an open story.'

However, United may have to fend off interest if they look to bring Antony into their 2025/26 campaign, with Betis' CEO expressing an interest in making hi s transfer permanent in the summer.

Speaking to Cadena Ser's Radio Sevilla, Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon said that Antony could be a part of his team's squad beyond the end of the current season.

'I think so,' he said when asked about the possibility of the transfer being made permanent in the summer.

Alarcon added: 'The other day the CEO of United called me. We sent them all the moves and details of the player throughout the week so that they can see that we are looking after their asset.

'There is very good chemistry with Manchester [United] and with the player. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not?'

As Pedroso reiterated, Antony's loan deal does not contain a clause with an obligation to buy, which means that Betis must negotiate a transfer fee with United should they want Antony on a permanent basis.

Although United did part with a hefty sum to sign him, a permanent move away could suit the club as they look to recoup some of their initial outlay.
