A couple of golfers strayed far out of bounds as they managed to emerge from a Missouri course unscathed this week.
Many an unlucky player unfortunately find their errant shots submerged in a water hazard or two throughout a round - few rarely find themselves in it.
Yet, that was what one playing group managed to achieve during a round at Payne’s Valley golf course at Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri.
Their golf cart ended up fully submerged in the water surrounding the island green at the course's 19th hole.
In a series of videos shared to Instagram by Rocky Metcalfe, the white roof of the vehicle was all that was visible of the cart just below the water's surface.
The players could be seen bobbing around in the water before they dove down to the cart in an attempt to rescue their belongings.

The filmer of the video was heard explaining that the group had been driving down the cart path on the cliff overlooking the green when they managed to jump the curb and launch themselves off the side into the water below.
In another clip, parts of the cart that had broken off in the tumble could be seen littering the cliffside, while a lone shoe also rested on the bank.
The man speculated that alcohol was involved, claiming the players were 'drunk off their a**,' and added that a member of the course staff had told him that they had driven the cart off the cliff.
Payne’s Valley golf course was designed by Tiger Woods’ golf course design firm TGR Design.
It is the first fully public-access course in the world completed by the 15-times major winner's design company.
Named in honor of the late Payne Stewart, the course showcases the region’s natural beauty through a 19-hole championship course.

It was named the Best New Public Course in America by Golf Digest when it opened in 2021. In its first year of eligibility, it jumped onto Golf Magazine’s, Golf Digest’s and Golfweek’s coveted Top 100 Public Courses lists.
