Madonna has pulled out of her surprise London Pride appearance, according to reports.

The singer, 67, had been rumoured to take to the stage in Trafalgar Square alongside Beth Ditto and MNEK.

However, the singer will now not perform amid concerns about her safety as more than a million people are expected to head into London for the celebrations.

'Madge had been really excited to attend the event as she is such a huge advocate for LGBTQ+ rights,' a source told The Sun.

'But a last-minute decision was made by her team not to take part due to the huge crowds, amid concerns she could send the well-organised event into frenzied chaos.'

London Pride confirmed on social media that Madonna would not be performing.  They wrote: 'In response to the rumours, we can confirm Madonna will not appear or perform at Pride in London.'

The Daily Mail has contacted Madonna's representative for comment.

Organisers have said more than 35,000 marchers from more than 600 groups took part in the London Pride march on Saturday, running from Hyde Park Corner to Whitehall Place via Piccadilly.

The Metropolitan Police said before the event that there would be 'no tolerance of hate crime' as a busy weekend of Pride celebrations takes place in the city.

Spectators cheered as floats full of people dancing and speakers playing music drove through central London.

Many of those watching the parade wore rainbow colours and carried Pride flags and fans on a hot sunny day in the capital.

Companies that sponsored floats at the parade included Lidl, Tesco and Ikea, with the Swedish furniture brand's float carrying the message: 'Love doesn't require instructions.'

London-based football teams including Arsenal, West Ham and Crystal Palace also had floats in the parade.

It comes as Madonna celebrated her iconic new album, which was released on July 3, at Magazine London, powered by Grindr

According to review aggregators like Metacritic, Confessions II is already one of the most critically-acclaimed pop releases of 2026.

Daily Mail's own Adrian Thrills gave the album four out of five stars, calling it 'uniformly excellent' and a return to the star's musical roots.

'By drawing from her past, both personally and musically, Madonna has made her most vital album in over two decades. This grande dame still knows how to make us move,' wrote NME.
