Luiz undergoes Villa medical
Douglas Luiz is undergoing his medical ahead of joining Aston Villa. The 27-year old midfielder’s loan from Juventus to Nottingham Forest was curtailed so he could join injury-hit Villa.
The deal includes an option to buy at £21m plus add ons.
Salford eye McAtee to boost promotion push
Ambitious Salford are planning a bold attempt to sign John McAtee from League One Bolton to help with their push for promotion.
McAtee, the older brother of Nottingham Forest’s James, cost Bolton £1million when they signed him from Luton Town 18 months ago.
Lincoln City, Bradford City and Huddersfield Town are also interested in signing him for their own promotion pushes in League One.
Though McAtee has not started as regularly as he wanted this season, he has done in Bolton’s last two games and they have won both.
Salford are in the division below and chasing promotion from League Two but lost ground with a defeat to Chesterfield last night. They hope to appeal to Salford-born McAtee that he can become a local hero by joining their cause this month.
Clarets set to sign Ward-Prowse
Burnley are to finalise the loan signing of James Ward-Prowse from West Ham today.
The 31-year-old has travelled north for his medical ahead of linking up with Scott Parker.
Surridge leaning towards staying Stateside
Ipswich have made enquiries for Nashville striker Sam Surridge.
The 27-year-old former Nottingham Forest forward has been prolific since moving to Tennessee and that has alerted clubs back in the UK.
However, while tempted, Surridge is understood to be leaning towards staying in the MLS as it stands
Moyes no longer keen on Norton-Cuffy
Everton manager David Moyes is not pursuing a deal for Genoa right back Brooke Norton-Cuffy at this stage.
The England Under 21 international is available this window and the ex-Arsenal scholar has been discussed for a possible return to the Premier League.
Everton want a right back and a striker this month but are struggling to find the right fit. Norton-Cuffy is one that has been put to them, alongside the likes of Bologna’s Emil Holm, Guela Doue at Strasbourg, and more, but Moyes is looking at other options.
Dembele relaxed about PSG situation
Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele has no plans to leave Paris St Germain for Saudi Arabia as it stands.
The 28-year-old is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League after PSG president Nasser El Khelaifi warned that every player needs to fit into the club’s wage structure.
That was taken as a warning to Dembele by some as PSG approach the point of negotiationing a new deal with the France international.
However, Daily Mail Sport has been told that Dembele is relaxed about the situation at PSG.
He has a good relationship with the president and Luis Enrique, he is happy at the club and is ‘very focused’ on playing for them.
He still has two and a half years on contract and no conversations have started yet about a new deal or any figures discussed.
West Ham seek loans for Spurs and Chelsea duo
West Ham have made loan approaches for Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky and Chelsea defender Axel Disasi after sending Igor Julio back to Brighton.
Julio's return means the Hammers now have two domestic loan slots available as they pursue several options to bolster their defence.
Fulham winger Adama Traore should sign for West Ham today after undergoing a medical on Tuesday while midfielder James Ward-Prowse is heading for Burnley on loan after they revived talks.
Wolves goalkeepers in-demand
Tottenham have asked Wolves about taking keeper Sam Johnstone on loan as an indicator that they would allow Kinsky to leave.

The 27-year-old will cut short his current loan at Nottingham Forest to sign for the club who sold him in 2024. Villa's need is all the greater after Youri Tielemans was ruled out for eight weeks with an ankle injury.
Villa have confirmed the signing of Tammy Abraham from Besiktas for £18.25m. The 28-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Wolves target England international Gomes
Marseille's England midfielder Angel Gomes is a loan target for Wolves.
The Molineux club are also keen on Auxerre striker Lassine Sinayoko.
Cherries seal Rayan signing
Bournemouth have signed winger Rayan from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama in a deal worth up to £30.3m.
The 19-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract and is understood to have an £86.8m release clause.
