Simon Cowell's fiancée Lauren has shared snaps of the music mogul's playful side as she gave a rare insight into their life after she took on his surname.

The music mogul, 66, and Lauren share their son Eric, 11, and five dogs - three Yorkshire Terriers named Freddie, Squiddly and Diddly as well as rescue Daisy and a German Shepherd named Pebbles. Lauren also has a son called Adam, Simon's step-son, from her previous marriage.

And taking to Instagram on Thursday, Lauren, who has since legally changed her surname to Cowell, shared a behind-the-scenes look at their life, sharing a sweet snap of Eric cuddling a puppy.

Elsewhere in the post she shared a fun side of dog lover Simon as he played with Pebbles beside the pool at his home, as well as flashing his toned physique as he cuddled two of his Yorkies.

Lauren also shared a sweet selfie of herself and Pebbles, as well as the German Shepherd wearing a turkey hat.

'Dogs and life lately ♥️ (Part 1),' she captioned the snaps, which also included one of the Yorkies wearing a knitted hoodie.

Simon recently said a wedding is on the horizon after Lauren legally changed her name.

The music mogul and Lauren have shared their lives in new Netflix docuseries The Next Act, which follows Simon's nationwide search for young, talented musicians.

In between scenes of the X Factor star at work are slices of family life with Lauren and Eric and one episode shows Lauren signing paperwork to formally change her name by deed poll to Simon.

Now, Simon, who has previously been vocal about his reluctance to marry before proposing to Lauren on Christmas Eve 2021, has insisted the two will wed.

'I always shied away from saying it's going to happen whenever,' he explained. 'When we decide to do it, it will be private then people will know about it but obviously the fact that she talks about changing her name, it's quite obvious where all this is leading to.'

'We have a very, very close bond. I adore her. We are a very happy family, genuinely,' he gushed.

Simon revealed that whilst he had to persuade Lauren to appear in his new show, the experience only strengthened his love for her.

'She was a bit reluctant [to be on camera] in the beginning, and then she got more used to it,' he told Us Weekly. 'The funny thing about her is that she is identical on the show as she is in real life. When I was watching the show back, I was absolutely cracking up at some of the scenes.'

In the name change scene Lauren, who was previously married to businessman Andrew Silverman with whom she shares son Adam, 20,  is seen explaining that she has decided she no longer wants to go by her old married name.

'Look, I am Mrs Cowell,' she says. 'I have created a life with Simon, we have a child together, we have a solid relationship.'

The name change, she says, was about aligning with Simon and Eric. 'This is more about the unity of our family and us having the same name. When we discussed it, Simon said, "Yeah, I would really like you to change your name." It wasn't a dramatic statement, it was just: "This is who I am, and this is who we are".'

The couple first met in Barbados in 2004, but didn’t start dating until around 2012. They welcomed their son Eric in 2014 and got engaged in 2021.

It comes after Simon claimed son Eric is his 'destiny' as he left an interviewer very bemused with a story about his conception.

During his interview on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, Simon was asked 'what has been your biggest miss and what did you learn from it?'

Simon was adamant though that he can't have regrets, because of his son Eric, 11, leaving Marina and Richard bemused as he launched into a long-winded explanation on the power of destiny.

'However, that's your destiny and Eric was conceived on a certain day at a certain time, and if things have gone differently, then I don't believe he would be here. So that therefore you can't really complain too much about your regrets.'

Simon did concede he has experienced the dark side of his industry, but refused to elaborate except to cryptically say: 'I've had experiences now where people who you trusted just completely let you down.

'I can be quite naive where I really, really, really put my trust in people. And boy do they let let you down.'

The businessman, who shares Eric with his fiancée Lauren, said at this point in his life any business regrets pale into insignificance, gushing 'My family is everything to me genuinely.

'I mean, when I first found out, I'm like, Oh my God, I wasn't expecting that. And then from the minute I saw his scan, I just fell in love. It was like a game changer. Everything in my life changed.'
