Sydney Sweeney is getting candid about facing rejection in the acting industry.

The 28-year-old longtime actress — who shared a racy photo on Saturday — doled out advice to aspiring actors during a red carpet interview at the New York City premiere of her upcoming movie The Housemaid.

Speaking to People, she advised: 'Honestly, do it as long as you love it.'

'You gotta love it a lot, because it's really hard, and you're going to be told "no" more than you're gonna be told "yes,"' the seasoned star said.

She emphasized, 'You have to deal with rejection, and it's a lot. So if you love it to your core, then none of that matters because you're getting to do what you love.'

The words of wisdom come on the heels of her box office bomb, the biopic Christy.

The film, starring Sweeney as boxer Christy Martin, was released on November 7.

According to The Wrap, it grossed an unimpressive $1.3 million after being released in 2,011 theaters, averaging $649 per venue.

Despite the lackluster numbers, the Euphoria sensation took to social media after the debut to express how 'proud' she is of the project.

'I am so deeply proud of this movie. Proud of the film [director] David [Michôd] made. Proud of the story we told. Proud to represent someone as strong and resilient as Christy Martin. This experience has been one of the greatest honors of my life,' she wrote.

Sweeney highlighted the meaning behind Christy, adding, 'This film stands for survival, courage, and hope. Through our campaigns, we’ve helped raise awareness for so many affected by domestic violence. We all signed on to this film with the belief that Christy’s story could save lives.'

Expressing gratitude, she said, 'Thank you to everyone who saw, felt, and believed and will believe in this story for years to come. If Christy gave even one woman the courage to take her first step toward safety, then we have succeeded.'

Finally, she addressed the box office figures directly: 'So yes I’m proud. Why? Because we don’t always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact. And Christy has been the most impactful project of my life. Thank you Christy. I love you.'

The silver screen siren suffered another box office disappointment with last year's Madam Web, co-starring Dakota Johnson.

The action movie had a budget of $80 million, but earned just $15.1 million in its opening weekend in February 2024.

Sweeney's next movie hits theaters on December 19

Sweeney's next movie, The Housemaid, hits theaters on December 19.

The actress plays Millie, a live-in housemaid trying to start fresh and leave her past behind.

Her character works for Amanda Seyfried's seemingly polished character Nina Winchester, who is married to Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar).

Things go left, putting Millie in a dangerous position when the Winchesters' luster begins to chip away.

A logline describes the movie as a 'seductive game of secrets, scandal and power.'

Director Paul Feig told People executive producers and co-stars Sweeney and Seyfried's onscreen chemistry is 'through the roof.'

'They are both such powerful talents and work so well off each other that you very quickly get sucked into their onscreen world,' he shared.

The movie is based on the Freida McFadden novel of the same name, published in 2022.
