Chelsea have added THIRTY-THREE new youngsters to their Champions League squad registered with UEFA ahead of tonight’s visit of Ajax, including eight 16-year-olds.

Among the additions to their B list includes Thiago Silva’s son Isago, 16, and Michael Emenalo’s son Landon, 17, as well as multiple promising talents from their Cobham academy such as Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, Ibrahim Rabbaj and Shim Mheuka.

Clubs can add an unlimited number of players to their B list the night before a match, as long as they are born on or after January 1, 2004 and meet other eligibility.

It is not known who specifically will make their official squad for the visit of Ajax.

Daily Mail Sport understands Chelsea may have added their large number of academy kids to avoid having to add them individually before games moving forward.

This way, they will have a large pool of young talent to choose from, should they need to fill spaces on their substitutes’ bench in future matches.

Enzo Maresca can now call on a huge pool of young talent in the Champions League 'B' group
Thiago Silva's son Isago, 16, is one of 33 youngsters to be added to the extended squad
Michael Emenalo’s son Landon, 17, has also been added to Maresca's 'B' squad

Chelsea lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich in their opener but then beat Jose Mourinho’s Benfica 1-0.

Against Ajax, they will be without Joao Pedro due to suspension, possibly giving Marc Guiu the opportunity to start his first game since returning from his loan to Sunderland.
