Paloma Faith has revealed she once suspected her friend Alan Carr of accidentally leaking her breakup to the press in a resurfaced clip from her Mad, Sad and Bad podcast on Friday.

The singer, 44, was joined by the comedian, 49, for a gossip-themed segment when she recalled the time she was convinced Alan had leaked the news, despite her not having told anyone.

Kicking off the chat, Paloma asked Alan: 'Do you think gossip's bad?'

He admitted: 'I gossip about people all the time.' Paloma shot back: 'You think it's okay?'

Alan confessed: 'I don't like people... I mean, I'm a pure hypocrite. I love gossiping, but I hate people gossiping about me. I'm a complete gossip hypocrite.'

Paloma probed: 'So you do sort of think it's bad, but it's a guilty pleasure.'

He admitted: 'It's a guilty pleasure. If people are d***s, you've got to talk about them, haven't ya.'

Recalling the leak, Paloma said: 'Do you remember when I called you, we went out one night, we went to the Halloween party, and the next day it was in the paper that my relationship had ended, but I hadn't told anyone.'

Appearing shocked, Alan protested: 'It was not me! You know it wasn't me.'

Paloma added: 'But do you remember I called you and asked if you knew, if you'd mentioned it by accident, you were like no, no, no.'

Alan replied: 'Oh, now you've lured me in saying "are you a gossip?" And I've gone "yeah", and you've gone "yeah, because someone's gossiping about me!"

Paloma couldn't contain her laughter as she protested: 'No!' while Alan jokingly chimed in, saying: 'This is a trap, Pam! Start the car, let's get out of here.'

Laughing Paloma said: 'She can't drive. You'll die', as Alan quipped back: 'I'll cling to the bonnet.'

The resurfaced clip comes after Paloma dropped a series of clues that her friendship with Alan is over after he betrayed her by 'murdering' her on the hit BBC show, Celebrity Traitors.

On Thursday night, viewers of the popular competition, which launched its first-ever series with famous faces this week, watched as the Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer was killed off.

In a shock twist, it was her pal Alan who had been selected by host Claudia Winkleman to be a Traitor in Wednesday's launch episode, who made the fatal move.

Alan and his fellow Traitors, talk show host Jonathan Ross and singer Cat Burns, were tasked with taking out one of their fellow celebrities.

Claudia, 53, explained they would have to touch someone else's face in order to 'poison' them with the pollen of a black lily that had been placed in Ardross Castle.

Stood in the kitchen alone, comedian Alan took his chance to place his thumb on Paloma's cheek as he told her she 'had a hair in her face'.

While Paloma survived the night, she was shockingly put into a coffin and carried away as part of a prize-building game the following day.

Now, the singer has dropped a series of hints she's not forgiven her long-standing pal for his 'gutting' betrayal - and that the drama has spilt over into real life.

As the show aired on Thursday evening, Paloma first reacted to the moment Alan 'killed' her, as a flashback scene played showing Alan touching her face.

Recalling the leak, Paloma said: 'Do you remember when I called you, we went out one night, we went to the Halloween party, and the next day it was in the paper that my relationship had ended, but I hadn't told anyone'

Taking to her Instagram stories, she shared a selfie video from the sofa as she simply said 'f***' to the camera, tagging Alan's account in the post.

She went on to post a photo of herself sitting by her own grave from the series, telling fans she was 'gutted' to be the first person to leave the series.

When one fan responded in the comments they thought that Alan 'was her friend', Paloma simply hit back: 'So did I.'

Another nail in the coffin came when Paloma was asked what her highlights of the show were as she waved goodbye to the castle for good - and left Alan out.

She told viewers: 'I liked feeling how physically competent I was with the Trojan horse. That was such a thrilling group achievement and hard work.

'Meeting people I’d never crossed paths with before: Celia is just an absolute dream, and I love, love Niko, he’s amazing.

'It was so nice to meet Cat as well. Ruth Codd was one of the funniest, most brilliant people I’ve met in a long time!'

Paloma didn't hold back in her thoughts about Alan in the Traitors podcast, Uncloaked, either - saying she would 'not have done the same' to Alan if things had been the other way around.

The singer explained to host Ed Gamble: 'If the shoe was on the other foot, I would not have touched Alan’s face.

'Categorically, he had a choice – maybe it was the easiest option, but it was the choice he made, and I don’t think it was very nice.

'I still maintain to this day that if the shoe was on the other foot, I wouldn’t have done that. So I don’t think he should have done it to me, and I’m surprised that he did.'

However, she hinted that she and Alan had spoken since the ordeal, explaining she 'found forgiveness quite an easy thing [to do] as a person'.

On Thursday, Claudia asked the celebrities, which include the likes of Charlotte Church, Joe Marler, Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie, to wear their 'mourning attire' before they were whisked off to the graveyard for the scene that featured Paloma's demise.

The celebrities stood in the pouring rain as part of a game that saw three of them placed in wooden coffins ahead of the big reveal of the first victim.

Paloma had her fate sealed when the lid on her coffin was slammed shut during a dramatic mission, and she was carried away, ending her time in the competition.

While the scenes made for gripping television, sources behind-the-scenes claimed the star wasn't quite as composed off-camera.

A source told The Mirror: 'She threw a wobbly afterwards about being the first to go.

'Some players just shrug it off when they leave, but Paloma was fuming when she discovered who had betrayed her. She couldn't work out what had actually happened, and when she found out the details, it only made her feel worse.

'Paloma is loud and wears her heart on her sleeve - it's fair to say that she wasn't happy with going home first.'

After being murdered, Paloma called the experience 'up and down', admitting it was nerve-wracking knowing her larger-than-life personality made her an easy target.

She said: 'I knew that I couldn't fade into the background. I'm the sort of person that lets my feelings about people be known by talking a lot, so it was never an option for me to be able to quietly just simmer under the surface.'

She further quipped: 'I don't think my technique was great in this game, but it works very well in real life.'
