Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci sent fans into meltdown on Saturday when they were spotted sat front row at the Dolce & Gabbana show during Milan Fashion Week.

The pair were filming scenes for the eagerly anticipated The Devil Wears Prada 2 and slipped seamlessly back into their characters from the 2016 film.

Meryl, 76, who is back playing her role as esteemed 'Runway' magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, looked the epitome of chic in a pair of black tailored trousers and sky high heels.

Boasting a dramatic tan coloured coat, that was cinched with a leopard print belt, she accessorised the look with a pair of statement yellow framed sunglasses.

Meryl effortlessly held a matching leopard print clutch under her arm and much to everybody's delight, could be seen back with her characters iconic side swept bob.

As she walked into the packed out stage, she cooly made her way to her seat and seemed to ignore the deafening crowd who screamed and clapped with excitement at being in the presence of the fictional editor-in-chief.

Behind her walked Stanley, 64, who once again embodied fan-favourite Nigel.

He looked dapper in a blue three-piece suit, with a patterned tie, smart shoes and sunglasses.

As the Dolce & Gabbana show started, the pair could be seen reprised in their roles, looking on and observing the fashion that was being presented infront of them.  

The sequel is set for a May 2026 release - exactly 20 years after the original became a cultural phenomenon. 

Whilst finalised plot details have been kept secret, it is thought audiences are set to follow Miranda as she grapples with the struggles facing print magazines. 

Reports suggest she'll need to turn to her former assistant Emily - who was played by Emily Blunt and is now a top executive at a luxury label - in a bid to secure vital advertising deals.

When the first film came out, Emily's character was rumoured to be inspired by former Vogue writer Victoria 'Plum' Sykes, who herself has strenuously denied as much. 

Miranda Priestly's character however, is thought to be inspired by American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who announced she would be stepping down from her role in June  after 37 years. 

The original Devil Wears Prada wasn't just a box office smash - it cemented itself as a cultural touchstone, turning Streep's Miranda Priestly into an instantly iconic character and inspiring a generation of fashion lovers to whisper, 'That's all.'

By the time the sequel hits theatres in May 2026, it will mark 20 years since the first film debuted - a film that not only raked in $326.7 million worldwide on a modest $35–$41 million budget, but also became a pop culture phenomenon.

The original scored two Academy Award nominations, including Best Actress for Meryl Streep, who also took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. 

It earned five BAFTA nods, three Golden Globe nominations overall, and cemented itself as one of the defining comedies of the 2000s. 

David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna, the director and writer respectively of the original movie, have been enlisted for the same jobs on the sequel. 

The Devil Wears Prada is based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger and was published in 2003.

It spent six months on the New York Times bestseller list and set off a blizzard of gossip that Lauren was writing about her former boss, who had employed her for less than a year.

It has since been made into a musical, starring Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly and with music by Elton John.

Meryl's appearance during fashion week indicates that she will not be attending Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's wedding. 

Selena joyfully announced her marriage to music producer Benny on Saturday with a sumptuous suite of wedding photos.

The 33-year-old was the image of romantic bliss in a glistening silvery white bridal gown, in Polaroids she posted images of to her Instagram.

Gomez, 33, said ‘I do’ to music producer Benny Bianco, 37, in a ceremony at the romantic Sea Crest Nursery – a 70-acre private plantation in Goleta, California dotted with palm trees and cycads.

Her guests included her longtime pal Taylor Swift, as well as her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Paul Rudd, plus Paris Hilton.

In her new new pictures, Gomez could be seen gazing adoringly at her bridegroom as they posed together under the streaming sunlight on a tree-strewn lawn.
