Crystal Palace new boy Christantus Uche and Borussia Dortmund's Fabio Silva have been caught posting identical farewell messages to their former clubs.

Silva, 23, spent five years at Wolves but made only 72 appearances after signing from Porto in a £35m deal back in 2020.

He however never lived up to that price tag, netting just five goals during his time at Molineux as he was sent on loan to Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers and Las Palmas.

The Portuguese striker ended his nightmare spell in the Midlands last week, signing for the Bundesliga side in a permanent move.

Upon completion of the deal, Silva posted - what seemed like - a heartfelt goodbye to Wolves supporters on his Instagram account reading: 'When I first arrived at Wolves, I came full of ambition, dreams, and the desire to make a real impact. I know I didn’t come close to meeting the expectations.

'But football and life are about more than just numbers or moments on the pitch. During my time here, I’ve grown, I’ve learned, and above all, I’ve discovered the true meaning of family. That’s what Wolves gave me. From day one, the people inside this club made sure I never lacked support. They created the conditions for me to succeed, to feel safe, to feel at home and for that, I’ll always be thankful.

'To all the coaches who guided me, the teammates who stood beside me, and every member of staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes: thank you. Your kindness, your professionalism, and your belief in me will never be forgotten. I’ve built friendships here that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

'Life has taught me never to give up, to fight twice as hard when things don’t go as planned. I always tried to stay true to that, to keep chasing my happiness and well-being, even when the road got tough. I leave with a bittersweet feeling, but also with pride, knowing that I gave my all and never stopped trying.

'Now it’s time for a new chapter, but I won’t forget where I’ve been. I’ll always be another supporter of this club.

'Thank you @wolves. From the bottom of my heart'

However just days later, fans spotted Crystal Palace's new forward Christantus Uche had posted an identical message on his page.

The Nigerian agreed a season-long loan move to the Eagles from Getafe in LaLiga, where he had been a regular during his sole season at the club.

But in his farewell message, just as Silva had, Uche apologised 'for not coming close to meeting expectations', something fans questioned given in just one year he's earned himself a move to the Premier League.

One fan wrote on X: 'Uche apologizing for not meeting expectations makes absolutely no sense though lol.'

Silva posted - what seemed like - a heartfelt farewell to Wolves supporters on his Instagram
But just a few days later fans noticed that Palace new boy Uche had posted the same message
Supporters were quick to post their bemusement on X at the identical farewell posts

While other supporters expressed their bemusement at the fact the two players 'couldn't be bothered' to think of their own messages.

'Nah that's actually disgusting, fella can't be a***d to write a goodbye message for club he's been at 4/5 years,' one posted.

'Surely none of us thought they were his own words,' another wrote.

'"AI please write me a farewell post"', one more joked.

And another fan posted: 'Knew it wasn't him who wrote it in the first place, he never wanted to be here.'
