Cate Blanchett, Heidi Klum and her daughter Leni all looked incredible as they attended the opening ceremony of the Venice Film Festival in Italy on Wednesday.

A-lister Cate, 56, effortlessly turned heads as she arrived on the red carpet in a black sleeveless Armani dress with a plunging neckline.

The garment featured a bejewelled detail along the front and the Oscar winner added to her look with a pair of silver earrings.

Cate has been known to rework her red carpet looks, and this red carpet was no different as she wore one her best Armani Privé recycled gowns, which she first wore to the 2022 SAG Awards.

Supermodel Heidi cut a glamorous figure in a champagne dress with a sweetheart neckline and a matching robe detail along the waist.

The German beauty added height to her frame with a pair of heels and let her blonde locks fall loose down her shoulders.

Also in attendance was Tilda Swinton who looked elegant in a white short-sleeved top tucked into a black high-waisted skirt. 

Barbara Palvin commanded attention in a daring black dress with a lace detail and a high leg split.

The garment also featured a flowing train and the model added to her look with a pair of black kitten heels. 

The stars graced the red carpet tonight for the world premiere of Paolo Sorrentino's La Grazia.

The festival have chosen to open with the newest film from one of Italy's most revered working filmmakers.

Starring Toni Servillo, he plays a fictional Italian president who is conflicted with signing a bill that allows euthanasia while also mourning his late wife.

Sorrentino has said that he was inspired to write the film by a real case of an Italian president who pardoned a man who had killed his wife, who was suffering from Alzheimer's. 

He said 'This was a moral dilemma that was interesting to tell. I have thought for years that moral dilemmas are very interesting for storytelling.'

Earlier this week, Heidi and Julia Roberts jetted into Venice, Italy ahead of the 82nd International Film Festival kicking off.

Both stars have been snapped as they drew attention from the public while making the most of their time in the romantic city.

Heidi enjoyed the sunshine on Tuesday afternoon as she strolled the streets while tucking into an ice cream.

The pair appeared in great spirits as they walked hand in the Italian City ahead of Tuesday night's pre-opening.
